About Me
Andrew Harris received his B.S. in Biology from The
Johns Hopkins University. He later graduated from the
university’s School of Medicine and its School of
Hygiene and Public Health, where he received his
M.H.S.
This education enabled him to serve in the U.S. Naval
Reserve Medical Corps as a Lt. Commander from
1988-1994 and as a Commander from 1994 until the
present. His term of service included active duty
during Operation Desert Storm. Harris maintains a
full-time practice as an obstetric anesthesiologist at
The Johns Hopkins Hospital, where he also teaches.
He is serving his third term in the Maryland General
Assembly. He lives with his wife Sylvia and their
five children in Cockeysville.
