About Me
Melissa Hart was first elected to Congress in 2000. Before her election to Congress, Melissa served for ten years in the Pennsylvania Senate, where she chaired the Senate Finance Committee and earned a reputation as a tireless advocate for Pennsylvania taxpayers.
Melissa is a native of the North Hills of Pittsburgh and a graduate of North Allegheny High School, Washington & Jefferson College, and the University of Pittsburgh School of Law.
Melissa is a member of the boards of the University of Pittsburgh, Community College of Allegheny County, Washington and Jefferson College, the Vietnam Veterans Leadership Project, the Pittsburgh Film Office, the Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre, and is a member of St. Alexis Church in Wexford.
