About Me
Over the span of his entire professional career, Congressman Tim Murphy has focused on working hard to make a difference in the lives of families and children. Having worked through college and graduate school, Congressman Tim Murphy earned a PhD in psychology from the University of Pittsburgh and served on the staff at several medical centers, including Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh. Later he opened his own practice serving children and families in Western Pennsylvania.
In 1996 Tim Murphy was elected to the Pennsylvania State Senate. In 2002 Tim Murphy was elected to the United States Congress where he now serves on the Energy and Commerce Committee, one of the most powerful committees in the House.
Congressman Murphy and his wife Nan live in Upper St. Clair with their daughter Bevin. They attend St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Bethel Park.
