About Me
Doug was born in Portsmouth, Virginia. He graduated from the Naval Academy in 1972, and went on to serve 27 years in the US Navy. He was a helicopter search-and-rescue pilot at NAS Whidbey Island, a combat pilot during the Gulf War, and commanded two ships-including a nuclear aircraft carrier, the USS John C. Stennis (CVN 74). He moved to Snohomish, WA in 1999 and is co-owner of Damar Machine Company.
Doug has been civically active since retiring from the Navy. He serves on the MS Board, is active in the Everett Council of the Navy League, Everett Rotary Club, and the Everett and Monroe Chambers. Additionally, Doug has received national acclaim for his work in the Snohomish School District.
