State Senator Steve Buehrer is a sixth generation resident of Northwest Ohio. He attended Bowling Green State University graduating Summa Cum Laude. Buehrer served for nearly eight years in the administration of Governor George V. Voinovich including as deputy director of two different state agencies. In 1998, Buehrer sought and was elected to the office of state representative from Ohio's 82nd House District. He was re-elected in 2000 again in 2002 and 2004. In 2006, Buehrer was elected by an overwhelming majority to represent Ohio's 1st Senate District. Senator Buehrer is a practicing attorney and also operates a small business with his wife. He resides in Delta, Ohio, with his wife, Cathy, and sons, Benjamin, Simon and Daniel.
