After his election to Congress in 2001, Joe used his decades of experience as public servant, his background and credentials, to be an effective representative for the people of South Carolina’s Second Congressional District.
Joe was selected for membership on the powerful Armed Services Committee and the important Education and Workforce Committee. He has been also appointed an Assistant Majority Whip and to the influential Republican Policy Committee. Joe is an advocate for a strong national defense in the Global War on Terrorism to protect American families, for continuing to strengthen the economy and create jobs through tax reductions.
